Finance Associate

We are looking for a well organised, proactive and focused individual to join our growing team, playing a key role in supporting the finance team in day-to-day accounting tasks, including data entry, invoice processing, reconciliation, and other administrative duties. The successful candidate will have strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience and grow within the finance team, with potential for further training and career progression.

Saltus is a privately owned financial planning and discretionary investment management house. We are dedicated to providing a high-quality service for private clients, trusts, and smaller institutions.

Saltus Partners was founded in 2004 and has grown organically and through a small number of carefully integrated acquisitions. Originally the business started out as an investment manager and has now developed the financial planning side of the offering, putting this at the forefront of the client relationship.

Today Saltus manages and advises on over £7.5 billion of client assets, acquired through a combination of organic business growth and corporate acquisitions.

 

What does this role look like?

The Finance Associate will:

  • Process purchase invoices, ensuring accuracy and correct general ledger entry, and support the smooth workflow from ordering to approval and payment.
  • Regularly review purchase ledger activity to ensure consistency in spending and highlight any discrepancies or areas requiring further attention.
  • Reconcile multiple company bank accounts daily, tracking transactions and ensuring records are up to date, while also monitoring balances.
  • Maintain the finance team’s shared inbox, responding to queries from internal and external stakeholders in a timely and professional manner.
  • Raise various sales invoices and reconcile fees taken in Curo, our business CRM system.
  • Undertake ad hoc reporting and analysis tasks as required.

 

What sort of person are we looking for?

Essential

  • AAT Level 4 or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience in purchase ledger processing
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and quality
  • A team player with the flexibility to work from our Whiteley office when required

Desirable

  • Mathematics A-Level
  • Experience working within a finance function in a business
  • Experience in bank reconciliation
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics Business Central
  • Financial services or wealth management industry experience

 

Where will I be working?

We are looking for someone to be based out of our Whiteley office, and offer hybrid working, which includes 2 days in the office, with the remainder at home. We’re incredibly flexible about when and how you work: we don’t want anyone to be prevented from coming to work for Saltus as a result of the working pattern that they’re looking for. What benefits do I get when working for Saltus?

The salary £25,000-£32,000 depending on experience, alongside 25 days’ holiday (plus bank holidays), life assurance, income protection and a pension, alongside access to our flexible benefits platform. The role is 37.5 hours per week between the hours of 8.30-5.30pm.
