Regional Sales Manager – Abacus (North and London)

We are looking for an experienced Regional Sales Manager to provide support to our self-employed IFAs within the North and London regions, and to join the Abacus team as one of our team of adviser “captains”. If you are an experienced adviser who also has experience of managing and supporting a team of advisers, then this could be the role for you!

Saltus Partners was founded in 2004 and has grown organically and through a small number of carefully integrated acquisitions. What does this role look like? 

This position will report directly to the Managing Director of Abacus, and will have the following key responsibilities: 

  • Supporting a team of self-employed IFAs, providing input as needed and enabling them to develop in their roles 
  • Running training programmes to support advisers with their CPD and acquisition of new clients 
  • Recruiting and developing new IFAs 
  • Working closely with the Paraplanning team to boost file quality and maximise the time advisers are able to spend with their clients 
  • Working closely with the Compliance team to ensure consistent adherence to our high quality standards 

 

What sort of person are you looking for? 

  • Demonstrate a strong technical knowledge, and understanding of all financial products, plans and product providers  
  • At least 5 years’ experience as an adviser 
  • Level 4 qualified 
  • Experience of managing and supervising advisers 
  • Desire to learn and continue to develop technical knowledge and understanding 
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing 
  • Exceptional attention to detail 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with departments across the business  
  • Comfortable with working in a fast-paced environment 
  • Strong team player, proactively offering support to the team 
  • Strong organisational skills and able to manage a busy workload 
  • Strong IT skills 
  • Can proactively demonstrate a desire to take responsibility for personal development, being aware of any knowledge gaps and actively working to close these gaps 
  • Act as a strong advocate of change 

 

Where will I be working? 

This role will be home based, but you will be expected to spend regular time both out in the field with advisers, and also attending our offices when required. We’re incredibly flexible about when and how you work: we don’t want anyone to be prevented from coming to work for Saltus as a result of the working pattern that they’re looking for.
